About Us

Supportive Futures

At Supportive Futures our vision is simple. All that we do is focused on supporting the needs of the Young People in our placement. By extension, our values, approach and ethos are embodied in, and implemented through, our policies and procedures. They are the framework to support all that we do and achieve.

What we offer is a 28-day placement for vulnerable young people (male, female or non-binary) aged between 12-17. Our aim is to provide support in a holiday – like environment with a home from home feel, by providing activity-based experiences, as well as support in necessary life skills. Helping them to become more independent as they progress into adulthood and or semi-independence. We will support young people from all walks of life, who may present with a range of complex needs and functioning difficulties.

Examples of these include but are not limited to young people who –

  • Self-harm
  • Have poor educational performance
  • Display sexualised behaviors
  • Development trauma
  • Post-traumatic traumas
  • Attachment disorders
  • Misuse substances
  • Have disrupted family/peer relationships
  • The service we provide offers support to young people who have been placed formally by the Local Authority under Section 20 or Section 31 (Care Order) of the Childrens Act (1989). Young People are usually placed from either the family home, foster homes, residential homes or secure units. After a 28-day placement with Supportive Futures, we aim to break the cycle of negative behaviors, develop communication skills, and help the Young person with the ability to manage their emotions more positively. Young people will then be able to be placed either back with a family, into a long-term residential home or move onto an independent living facility.
  • Children and young people in the care system often represent the most vulnerable and or underprivileged individuals in society. Our staff team aims to promote and encourage our young people with personal growth and development opportunities, which will enable them to make positive life choices, whilst developing new life skills which will help with leading prosocial lives in the future. We recognise that this will require a lot of commitment and support from our staff team. Our staff team are enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced individuals who thrive in their role of providing compassionate support to our young people.
